ABOUT THE

BLUEBIRD

Located just minutes from Interstate 40 and Historic U.S. Route 66 in Western Oklahoma, we are approximately 110 miles west of Oklahoma City and 150 miles east of Amarillo, Texas.  We are the only lodging in downtown Elk City, off the beaten path and adjacent to historic Route 66. Original built in 1905, the building has been magnificently restored and the owners have worked tirelessly to highlight modern day conveniences throughout the restoration.  The woodwork and finishings are spectacular and a visual delight. The king sized suites are in pristine condition and a superb hideaway offering plenty of spaces for reading or reflection. While rustic to reflect the period, the décor is immaculate and polished. Pictures can never do this inn justice, so get ready…the entire experience is a feast for the senses!

A lot of people ask how we got our name. The Bluebird Inn was born out of love from the owner’s grandmother and passion for her hometown.  Having lost her grandmother at a young age, she always cherished a beautiful bluebird figurine passed down to her from Nana.  After a recent trip with girlfriends visiting a small town, the owner fell in love with the inviting charm and convenience of a small inn downtown. She knew it was exactly what Elk City needed and had the perfect namesake to remember her Nana.
